Isle of Wight Glass Museum

The Isle of Wight Glass Museum has the largest collection anywhere of handmade art glass produced on the Isle of Wight.

As well as a growing collection of other British contemporary glass makers and European Art Deco glass.

They aim to make the museum a sensory delight. There are over 1200 pieces on show, in two galleries.

The Studio gallery, the larger of the two, celebrates the design and craftsmanship of the Island’s many studio glass makers, particularly Isle of Wight Studio Glass, Sculptglass, Glory Art Glass, and Alum Bay Glass, but other individual makers too.

The Art Deco gallery specialises in French, German and British glass dating from the 1920s and 1930s.

The shop offers a wide variety of glass, jewellery, books and other items to cater to many tastes. Additionally, the Isle of Wight Glass Museum has dedicated educational facilities for group visits, including schools and colleges, and an excellent library. In 2021 the museum underwent a major revamp, including new activities for families with young children.

The Isle of Wight Glass Museum is open every day of the week. Our knowledgeable staff are looking forward to seeing you.
